World War I bonus correspondence, 1932-1955.

Files contain correspondence concerning requests for bonus payment to veterans or their beneficiaries for World War I service. Claims were handled by the Service Recognition Board, of which the Adjutant General was a member, until the filing deadline of December 31, 1924. The board was abolished in 1927 and its records transferred to the Adjutant General who handled all subsequent queries.
